Although the start of the 4 Hours of Barcelona was given as scheduled at noon, the finish is expected to come… 4 hours and 30 minutes later! Indeed, race control has decided to reinstate the time spent under red flags, following the two accidents at the first chicane, involving three LMP2 cars on one side, and three LMP3 cars on the other.

After half an hour of track preparation, the race finally got underway. While Bijoy Garg (Inter Europol Competition #34) seemed to be dominating the early stages, the American had to contend with a strong comeback from Griffin Peebles in the #22 United Autosports Oreca 07. The Australian took the lead before the first pit stop and now holds a 17-second advantage over Ian Aguilera, who had made an excellent start in the #37 CLX Motorsport.

In LMP2 Pro/Am, while Giorgio Roda, in the #30 Duqueine Team car, managed to maintain the lead at the start of the race, a mistake at the end of the first hour allowed PJ Hyett to take over in the #99 AO by TF car. Fabien Michal leads the LMP3 class, while in LMGT3, Davide Rigon put on a spectacular display in the Classic Ferrari for sale No. 51 of AF Corse. Unsurprisingly, the Italian took the lead in the category, being the only Platinum driver to have started in the category, against drivers from the Bronze category.
