Team change for Lorenzo Fluxá. The 20-year-old Spaniard continues in European Le Mans Series in the LM P2 category for 2025, but not with COOL Racing. The native of Palma de Mallorca (Spain) will now represent Algarve Pro Racing in the continental championship.
« It’s exciting to join a team that knows what it’s like to conquer the European Le Mans Series overall and in LM P2. (Algarve Pro Racing won the title in 2023. Ed.), says Fluxá. There is so much quality within the Algarve Pro Racing team and I will do everything I can to give my best in order to win the championship. »
« I arrive after my first year in endurance, adds the Spaniard. In 2024 I discovered a whole new world where you take a completely different and longer-term approach to racing, and I loved the whole experience, I learned a ton. In fact, it was one of the best changes of my career to date and improving so much was extremely rewarding. »
In his first year in prototype, Fluxá showed himself to be at ease by winning the 4 Hours of Barcelona as well as the 4 Hours of Portimão in the company of Ritomo Miyata and Malthe Jakobsen.
« The 2024 season has been strong in terms of results, but I was hoping for more – you enjoy racing the most when you win, believes the person concerned. However, theELMS is incredibly competitive and I expect every LMP2 team to have fast drivers capable of taking wins, so consistency will win championships – it’s about taking race wins whenever you can, but maximising your results when you can’t. »
The 2025 European Le Mans Series season will kick off on April 6 with the 4 Hours of Barcelona.
