Pipo Derani (Genesis): "Starting Le Mans like this is tough!"

The Genesis Magma Racing team held its first test session on Wednesday as part of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its best driver was Luis Felipe Derani, who climbed to 9th place with the GMR-001 Hypercar this Wednesday afternoon.

"It was a complicated session, reveals the Brazilian, who shares his car with André Lotterer and Mathys Jaubert. There were quite a few minor issues with the power unit to sort out. Starting Le Mans like that is tough! Nevertheless, the team didn't fall apart and was able to fix the problems. I was able to complete a few laps in perfect conditions. The team overcame these problems effectively, and that's all part of the Le Mans 24 Hours experience.

Before the qualifying session (start at 19:30 pm) this Wednesday evening, Pipo Derani refuses to set a specific objective. "I just want to do my best, because we don't know what tactics our opponents are using. Of course, they're all trying to attack, but to what extent? We don't know."
