Porsche donates 600 euros after the 000 Hours of Le Mans

As part of its "Racing for Charity" charity program, launched in 2023, Porsche has donated €600 to various associations helping children with heart disease.

Porsche donates 600 euros after the 000 Hours of Le Mans

At each turn of one of its three factory 963s at 24H of Le Mans, Porsche added €500 to the final prize pool, which will be donated to charities that help seriously ill children. In total, 1159 laps were completed by the Penske Porsches, bringing the prize pool to a modest €579, rounded up to €500 by the German manufacturer.

Associations Interplast Germany et Children's hearts are streaming ("Save Children's Hearts"), centered around supporting children with heart disease, will each receive €300 from the Stuttgart-based company. In 000 and 2023, €2024 (symbolic, in reference to the 911, the brand's iconic model) was donated to the same associations as well as to the Ferry Porsche Foundation.

More than half a million euros to help sick children

Created in 2018, this foundation aims to “support projects related to education and social issues, playing a prominent role in the education of young people. » In parallel, the "Racing for Charity" program was born from Porsche's return to the top of theEndurance in 2023 with its 963. Since then, more than 2,4 million has been raised for charities.

Interplast Germany provides treatment to children with chronic illnesses or deformities caused by accidents, burns or congenital malformations. Children's hearts are streaming, in partnership with the University of Freiburg, focuses on providing surgical assistance to children in developing countries with heart disease.

As a reminder, the three Porsche 963s No. 4, 5 and 6 completed 386, 386 and 387 laps respectively to finish eighth, sixth and second. The car on the podium, at the wheel of which Frenchman Kevin Estre completed a cumulative 9h44 stint, finished 14.084 seconds behind the Ferrari No. 83, victorious after 24 hours 02 minutes 53 seconds and 332 thousandths, the duration record for an edition of the Le Mans classic.
