The New Zealander, who is competing in his very first Hypercar season after several years in Formula E where he established himself as one of the most consistent drivers in the electric championship, was able to restart thanks to the intervention of the crane, but the gravel brought back onto the track forced race control to deploy the safety car, neutralizing a race that was beginning to take shape differently for several crews.
Peugeot #93 beaches in the gravel and causes VSC.
