While he already defends the colors of Lexus in the World Championship ofEndurance (FIA WEC), Jose Maria Lopez adds the 12 Hours of Sebring to its program. The Argentinian actually replaces the British Ben Barnicoat, injured in a mountain bike fall during training. He will team up with the Americans Aaron Telitz and Kyle Kirkwood, entered for the season in IndyCar with the Andretti Global team.
The No. 14 Lexus crew won last year's Florida race in the GTD Pro class, and will therefore be without one of their three winners from last year. No indication has yet been given of a return date for Ben Barnicoat, who is also competing in the WEC with the No. 78 Lexus in LMGT3. This will be José María López's second participation in the 12 Hours of Sebring, the first having resulted in a sixth place overall in 2022, driving a Cadillac DPi. The Argentinian won the 1000 Miles at the same circuit in 2023, the opening race of the World Championship.
