These last meetings of the season also mark the end of various adventures between drivers and manufacturers. The FIA GT World Cup in Macau next weekend will, for example, be Raffaele Marciello's final start as a representative of Mercedes Benz. Charlie Eastwood will also leave a brand since he has just confirmed the end of his collaboration with Aston Martin.
The Belfast native confirmed the news on his social networks by posting a video composed of his various highlights with the English manufacturer and a short thank you text after 5 years of good and loyal service.
« My adventure with Aston Martin has come to an end, written-he. My first raceEndurance was behind the wheel of an Aston Martin GT3 at the start of the 2018 season. Fourteen months later, after winning the 24 Hours of Spa (in the Pro-Am category), I had the honor of signing a factory contract which lasted until today. I will always be grateful to AMR for hiring me so early in my career in Endurance and for giving me the chance to realize a childhood dream, that of winning the 24 hours of Le Mans (in LMGTE Am in 2020 with Jonatham Adam and Salih Yoluç)! »
