Mikkel Jensen on the 4th place of the Peugeot n°93 at Fuji: “It was very tactical”

What are your feelings about this race and this beautiful 4e place ?

I had a great time! When I got in the car, we were the last Hypercar on the leader's lap, then the safety car came out. We started off at the back of the pack and had to work our way back up.

Was it a clean race?

It must have looked clean, but there was a lot of fighting. It was very tactical, especially in the positioning of the car in the traffic in the third sector, which is very difficult. You had to be smart. The tyres degrade a lot at Fuji as well, so it was imperative to think about it on every lap, every corner. The aim was to extract the maximum from them without killing them too much.

Was it a “better circuit” this year with the new car?

We didn't feel super comfortable in practice and qualifying, but for some reason the car behaved better in the race. We saw that Loïc (Duval. Ed.) was fast in the first stint, and I feel like the car was pretty good in my stint. We just lack a bit of performance at the end of the stint on used tires compared to our opponents. But other than that, it's promising.
