The pilot Mercedes Benz secured his third consecutive pole position on Saturday, achieving a feat previously accomplished by only two other drivers: Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher were the only two to have secured their first three pole positions in Formula 1 consecutively, a feat also achieved by Antonelli this weekend. Victorious on Sunday, also for the third consecutive Grand Prix, the young Italian joined two other former world champions in the record books.
In 1993, Damon Hill secured his first three Formula 1 victories in three consecutive races, while Mika Häkkinen achieved the same feat, albeit spanning two seasons, by winning the final race of 1997 and the first two of 1998. By combining these two achievements, Kimi Antonelli carved out a unique place for himself in Formula 1 history, becoming the first driver to win his first three Grands Prix consecutively, starting each time from pole position.
In a press conference following this third victory, the Italian expressed surprise and honor at having achieved these new statistics, while remaining focused on the upcoming Grands Prix of a season in which he could become the youngest world champion in history, if he continues in this vein.
“Oh, I didn’t know that. That’s cool, it’s a nice statistic, but I don’t want to think about it too much. I’m just going to enjoy the moment, but I also know that we’ll get back to work quickly because we obviously have another break, let’s say, which isn’t ideal. But hey, I’m just going to try to prepare Canada as best I can to come back even stronger. But yeah, it’s cool, I guess.”

Equal to Senna and Schumacher, but much younger. But where is Hajar, who talks so much?

Kimi is surprising at the start of this season, but be careful if you analyze the races… he's still making a lot of mistakes… His starts are disastrous, and in the races, he's made quite a few errors… Behind Lando, Oscar, and Charles, for different reasons… they made life easier for him to win… and he has the best car and a killer engine! In my opinion, the deciding factor will be Monaco! We'll see… 😎👀😉 To all… Good night. 😴

Hats off to Kim! 🧢 But wait, Ayrton was a magical driver, in all conditions, and Michael is a driver and a man who knows how to energize a team, right from the start of his career… Speed, race intelligence… and very clever. An exceptional career! ‼️ Keep Fighting… 👍 For Ayrton Senna enthusiasts, the exhibition in Luxembourg… ends on May 10th… Organized by: Galleria 610 (GRIDX) Wickrange / Luxembourg 🇱🇺 President: Alain Féguenne Ayrton Senna Memorial Club of Luxembourg… 😎👍 alainkf1@pt.lu
