As the 2026 season approaches Formula 1Canal+, the official broadcaster of Formula 1 in France, is adding some big names to its roster of motorsport commentators. Alongside Julien Fébreau, motorsport enthusiasts will, as usual, see Jacques Villeneuve, but also... Romain Grosjean at more Grand Prix.
In addition to already known experts, such as Franck Montagny, Margot Laffite, Naomi Schiff, Günther Steiner, Adrien Tambay, Loïc duval and Jean Alesi, Canal+ will bring in new protagonists during the 2026 financial year.
The F1 Academy 2025 champion, Dorian Pin, the champion of F2 2023 Theo Pourchaire and the champion of F3 In 2022, Victor Martins will thus take over the airwaves during the season. Alongside his new role as a development driver for the F1 team Mercedes BenzDoriane Pin will commentate on F1 Academy races as well as some F1 Grand Prix. Théo Pourchaire and Victor Martins will commentate on several F2 and F3 events.

Shattering audience records with an average of 1,28 million viewers in 2025, Canal+ had its best F1 season in 13 years. The final round in Abu Dhabi, the scene of the final showdown and the crowning of Lando NorrisThe show alone attracted an average of 1,87 million viewers, peaking at 2,2 million. It remains to be seen whether Canal+'s new recruits will be able to attract even more fans!

This is a surprising announcement, especially since Doriane Pin has never driven an F1 car in her life, unlike Théo Pourchaire! That being said, by accepting a consultant role, it implicitly means they also need to earn a living...

I find the two previous comments rather harsh. Personally, I think Doriane Pin's participation is quite nice. And who says Alain Prost would be interested? Especially since he's already frequently interviewed when he's there.

It's strange to approach Mr. Grosjean and Mr. Montagny, who have never won a race in their careers. Canal+ should instead hire Alain Prost, who is actually credible in this sport.
