Since Wednesday, May 20th, the official F1 version of Monopoly has been available for pre-order. In this new themed version of one of the world's most popular board games, each player can take on the role of one of the eleven Formula 1 teams. Formula 1 in the running in 2026. While the board is very similar to standard Monopoly, several differences will be felt during the games, starting with the fact that there is no real bank or currency as such.

Players will accumulate points and victories throughout the season, and the heart of the game will be the Monopoly Grand Prix, on a secondary board located in the center of the main board. Thus, on each turn, when players land on Grand Prix properties owned by their opponents, they will compete directly on the Monopoly Grand Prix circuit in the center of the board.

The official arrival of Formula 1 in board games is proof of the growing appeal of the discipline, which in about ten years under the governance of Liberty Media has gone from a global sport but ultimately quite confidential, to a mass phenomenon, thanks to the Netflix series Drive to Survive or to numerous collaborations with the world of culture, sport in general or food.
