Third, George Russell could not have hoped for better in Australia

Winter did not bring any miracles to the brand with the star, still overtaken in pure performance by McLaren. From the qualifying stage, George Russell, credited with the 4th best time, launched into a diatribe against the papaya single-seaters.

On Sunday, the Englishman stopped feeling sorry for himself and produced a clear race. Although distanced by the trio Norris-Piastres-Verstappen, Russell maintained enough pace to move onto the podium when Piastri crashed.
« The team did a great job operationally today and we certainly maximized the result. The car's pace was enough to allow us to fight for the podium, but we know we need to find more speed if we want to compete with McLaren in normal conditions. »
This does not give cause for optimism.
