To stand on the top step of the podium after hearing one's name announced by the speaker at a racetrack Formula 1 It's certainly one of the highlights of a driver's career, especially when it's the first time. For Kimi Antonelli, the second youngest driver in history to win a Grand Prix, the emotions were definitely there, but the announcer was undoubtedly feeling a touch of nostalgia when he announced it!
It was indeed Kimi Räikkönen's name that was mentioned when the young Italian was ready to join George Russell and Lewis Hamilton on the podium. A moment of astonishment for Antonelli, who owes his first name to the 2007 world champion. We can be sure that the joy of winning his first Grand Prix was not diminished by it!
