VIDEO – The chaotic start of the Monaco Grand Prix

The first lap of this 2024 Monaco Grand Prix was chaotic! Despite a good start, Carlos Sainz suffered a puncture at the exit of the first turn after slight contact with Oscar piastri. The Spaniard ended up stopping at the Casino bend.

Behind, at the back of the pack, a huge accident involved Sergio Pérez and the two Haas : by wanting to interfere inside the Red Bull, Kevin Magnussen hooked the Mexican's right rear wheel, sending him violently into the wall. Nico Hulkenberg was the collateral victim of this accident, leaving both Haas on the ground.

The race management quickly displayed the red flag to remove the three wrecks and the numerous debris on the track. All three pilots are OK, but the ambulance was required because a photographer was reportedly injured by debris.
