The second round of the 2026 Super GT season takes place at Fuji, on a unique date. Qualifying was held this Sunday, May 3rd, before the race itself takes place on Monday, May 4th, a public holiday in Japan.
Despite this unusual schedule, Toyota The Honda Prudetto remains the dominant force in the Japanese championship. The duo of Nirei Fukuzumi and Kazuya Oshima secured pole position with the GR Supra. This is Fukuzumi's eighth pole position overall. They finished ahead of Tsuboi-Yamashita (Toyota) and Chiyo-Takaboshi in the first Nissan Z. The first Honda Prudetto-GT was driven by Ohta-Otsu, in 5th place.
In the French camp, Sacha Fenestraz (Toyota, 12th) and Giuliano Alesi (Toyota, 13th) were both eliminated in Q1 and will start beyond the top 10.
