A funny preparation for Kalle Rovanperä before the Rally Monte-Carlo, kick-off of the 2025 season of the WRC. Just two weeks before the Alpine event, the Finn will be behind the wheel of... a GT3, in the Persian Gulf, to compete in the 24 Hours of Dubai (January 10-12)! After the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the double WRC world champion will take the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the Proton Huber Competition team for his first official 24-hour race on the circuit.

Kalle Rovanperä – who will compete in the full WRC season in 2025 – discovered the circuit last season, in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux where he made a convincing debut (4th in the championship with three victories). In Dubai, he will therefore drive a Porsche 911 GT3 R wearing a pink livery and logos Red Bull, its main sponsor. The car will bear the number 969, in reference to the racing number used by the Finn in WRC (n°69).

“I met my compatriots Jukka Honkavuori and Jani Käkelä during the last Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux season, says Kalle Rovanperä. We discussed the idea of doing an endurance race together. Today, the three of us, along with Mark Wallenwein and Joel Monegro, will take part in the Dubai 24 Hours before the start of my WRC season. I am really looking forward to driving a GT3 car for the first time. Of course, there are new things to learn on a GT3 car and it is the first time I will share a car with other drivers. However, I am confident that I will find the right speed with Proton Huber Competition because the 24-hour race offers us a lot of track time.
