Sometimes there is no substitute for competition, and that's what Porsche will apply this weekend, by entering the 911 GT3 R n°91 in the 12 Hours of Spa. Event organized by Creventic, these twelve hours will be divided into two races, one on Saturday at 5am and the other on Sunday, lasting 7 hours. While the development and testing of the new machine of the German brand continues, this first competitive round will allow Porsche to discover things in traffic, which is obviously impossible during a test session alone on the track.

“The Creventic Series provides the ideal environment for such an important test. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit represents a formidable challenge for both drivers and machines.”, explains Sebastian Golz, who manages the Porsche 911 GT3 R project. “As a long-time Porsche customer team, Herberth Motorsport is able to provide valuable insight into the car’s handling, maintainability, ergonomics, and operational features. We also look forward to hearing the drivers’ impressions.”

These drivers, who will be three in number, are Laurin Heinrich (GTD Pro champion in IMSA in 2024), Ralf Bohn and Alfred Renauer. The three men will be responsible for testing the car during the twelve-hour race, as well as the numerous practice and qualifying sessions scheduled for this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. This will also offer spectators the opportunity to discover a car whose development is not yet complete, a real preview on the Ardennes toboggan run... Tickets for the full weekend are on sale for less than €24.
