A new start at BMW M Motorsport

After Maurizio Leschiutta and Maxime Martin, here is another departure at BMW M Motorsport. After 13 years as a factory driver for the propeller company, the German has decided to move on to other skies. The 41-year-old driver particularly distinguished himself in DTM with seven wins and 24 podiums in 122 races and above all a championship title in 2012. He also stood on the podium at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2015 (2nd) and at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2016 and 2021 (2nd).

« I would like to sincerely thank the entire BMW M Motorsport family, all the engineers and mechanics over the past 13 years, says the pilot from Schiltigheim (France). I have had the privilege of driving some incredibly fantastic racing cars all over the world – it was a great time. I would like to thank in particular former BMW Board Member Dr. Klaus Draeger, who was particularly supportive in my early years at BMW M Motorsport, as well as Charly Lamm and the entire Schnitzer family, with whom I won the DTM title in 2012 and experienced many fantastic years together. It was not an easy decision for me to leave the BMW M Motorsport family, but I am at a point in my career where a new challenge with a long-term perspective was important to me. That is why I decided to take the step. »

The Canadian does not specify what this new challenge will be that makes him leave his favorite manufacturer.
