Absolute Racing's last appearance at the Bathurst 12 Hours was notable, with Matt Campbell securing the first pole position for Porsche in this event, then the Australian finished fourth in the race alongside the French Mathieu Jaminet and Patrick Pilet.
Winner at Mount Panorama in 2024, Campbell will once again wear the colours of the Chinese team to defend his title on February 2. He will be accompanied by one of his teammates with whom he won last year, namely the Turk Ayhancan Güven. The two men will again be accompanied by a Belgian this year, but not by Laurens Vanthoor, since the third point of the trident will be Alessio Picariello.
« The Bathurst 12 Hour is a very special event and always an incredible way to kick off a new season, says Alexandre Gibot, Managing Director of Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd. We are delighted to support Absolute Racing on their return to Mount Panorama. The team performed very well there in 2020, taking a superb pole position on their debut. With reigning champions Matt and Ayhancan in the car, as well as 2024 Pro-Am winner Alessio, we believe the team has what it takes to challenge at the front once again. It is a very tough race and we know from previous years that anything can happen, but the team is experienced and with such a strong group of drivers, we are very excited to be involved in this event. »
