Ayumu Iwasa called up to replace Tadasuke Makino in tests

Due to health problems, Japanese driver Tadasuke Makino is forced to skip the 2024 Super GT pre-season tests scheduled for the Okayama track on March 16 and 17. His team, Team Kunimitsu, announced the forfeit of the 2020 champion of Great GT.

He will be replaced during the second day of training by his compatriot Ayumu Iwasa. “I look forward to driving the No. 100 Super GT500 car in the official test at Okayama Circuit, he wrote on Twitter. First of all, I really hope Tadasuke recovers quickly and comes back soon. This is my first time driving a GT car, but in any case I will do my best. »

Ayumu Iwasa, Formula 4 France champion in 2020 and fourth in the Formula 2 in 2023 with DAMS, returned to Japan in 2024 to compete in Super Formula with the top team, Team Mugen.
