No extended winter break for the Gembloux team! After wrapping up the end of the 2024 season in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the Belgian team narrowly missed out on the opportunity to win the GT World Challenge Europe title Endurance – Comtoyou Racing is already back in the Middle East as part of the 24H Series.

Comtoyou Racing, associated with Aston Martin since last year, with a prestigious victory in the Spa 24 Hours, will enter two Vantage Evo GT3s in the Dubai 24 Hours. “Everyone knows our affinity for endurance racing, especially since our victory at the last 24 Hours of Spa, confides Jean-Michel Baert, boss of Comtoyou Racing. We also know that nothing can replace racing in terms of training for our drivers and our technical team, and the opportunity to line up in a 24-hour event immediately immerses us in the deep end. The 24 Hours of Dubai is ideal for this, especially since the adversity will be tough both in numbers and quality knowing that the best GT teams will be present as well as all the manufacturers.

The two crews were also announced immediately afterwards. On board the Aston Martin No. 40, we will find the quartet Jamie Day – Matisse Lismont – Kobe Pauwels – Tom Van Rompuy. In the sister car, No. 41, it will be Nicolas Baert, Viacheslav Gutak and Dante Rappange who will have the honour of driving the Vantage. A fourth driver must still complete the crew of No. 41.

"The Dubai 24 Hours now occupies a real place in the catalogue of world endurance races, and we are far from lining up as dilettantes, adds François Verbist, Team Principal of Comtoyou Racing. We will have to familiarize ourselves with the particular track but also and above all with the Michelin tires that equip all the competitors. As for the drivers, our Line Up is coherent and even strengthened by the presence of Tom Van Rompuy, as well as that of Jamie Day, Matisse Lismont and Nicolas Baert, all three members of the Aston Martin Racing Academy. Matisse, Kobe, Nicolas and Dante are among our regular drivers, imbued with the good spirit that reigns in our team, they will know how to welcome the new arrivals to quickly give them confidence and form homogeneous and fast crews. We look forward to seeing them all on the track, and at the finish in a good place on Sunday!
