Christopher Haase and Audi Sport are done. The 37-year-old German driver has announced the end of his long adventure with the Audi Sport company. on his Instagram accountThe Kulmbach native has won two 24 Hours of Nürburgring (2012 and 2014), one 24 Hours of Spa (2017) and two 24 Hours of Dubai (2019 and 2024).
« 2024 is coming to an end, writes Haase. For For me, it was not only a very successful year, but I also had the opportunity to meet many different new people, which allows you to continually grow – and for that, I am very grateful.
With victory at the 24 Hours of Dubai, 3rd place at the 12 Hours of Bathurst, 3rd place overall in the GT World Chellenge Europe Endurance Cup, and the victory at the International GT Open, as well as several other podiums, I can consider that I have completed my last season as an official Audi Sport driver in a very successful manner.
I have been under contract with Audi Sport for 14 years and have had the privilege of contributing to the construction and experience of factory racing, customer racing, the hybrid system of factory-supported customer racing in all its facets. And believe me: they are very different things. I have had the opportunity to contribute, learn and ultimately test in racing conditions almost all of the racing cars developed in customer racing – an aspect that will remain particularly memorable for me. I believe the same applies to Audi Sport, because we certainly did not always agree in this area, but we always managed to find an excellent compromise.
Finally, I would like to express once again my gratitude for the loyalty and support of Audi Sport – a subject that can enable an athlete to achieve extraordinary performances. I wish Audi Sport the best for the future and hope that one day they will be able to support grassroots motorsport. »
