- After a two-month break in Super GT, the 15 crews returned to the track this weekend on the Fuji circuit for the 4th round of the 2023 season. It is the No. 24 Nissan Z from the Kondo Racing team, represented by Daiki Sasaki and Kohei Hirate, who took pole position on the Japanese track. A nice revenge after losing pole at Suzuka due to a fuel tank infraction.
- Daiki Sasaki set the best time in 1'27"763 to take pole position, the second for Nissan in 2023. Kondo Racing beat the two Honda NSXs from the ARTA-Mugen team, with the n°16 in front of n°8.
- The only Frenchman competing in Super GT, Giuliano Alesi was eliminated in Q1 with his teammate Ukyo Sasahara and will start 12th in the race on Sunday.
- La Toyota No. 36 of Sho Tsuboi and Ritomo Miyata, leading the Super GT championship, finished in last place in qualifying, handicapped by a success ballast with a fuel flow limiter.
