Despite the heavy rain, Friday's morning session at the Nürburgring went smoothly apart from a brief red flag at the start of the session when theAston Martin #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport found the gravel at turn 10.
The track had already dried well in time for the second 90-minute session, which ended with Jules Gounon in the lead. The factory driver Mercedes-AMG covered the 5,1 km track in 1'55"549, just a little faster than Dorian Boccolacci on the Porsche n ° 22.
The second session was uninterrupted. 49 cars out of 50 took to the track with the exception of Ferrari n°93 of Sky Tempesta Racing, entered in the Bronze Cup. Furthermore, this category gains an additional car, to the detriment of the Silver Cup, with the addition of the No. 26 Audi from Saintéloc Racing. Michael Blanchemain joins the existing crew of Uno De Wilde and Alban Varutti.
On-track activity will resume at 17:45 p.m. with the Bronze Test before free practice, which will take place tomorrow at 08:30 a.m.
