Part of pole position, the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°96 from Rutronik Racing of Julien Andlauer, Patric Niederhauser and Sven Müller was unable to defend its chances in the race. The fault was a collision at the first corner following a far too optimistic attempt by David Vinales.
The pilot of the Ferrari n°71 of AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors dived out of nowhere and hit Niederhauser on the inside of the first turn. The latter then touched the Mercedes n°48 of Team MANN-Filter of Lucas Auer to his left. With a puncture and damaged left rear, the Porsche was forced to retire.
This accident opened the way for the No. 3 Lamborghini Huracan GT2 EVO163 of Grasser Racing Team, third at the start and victorious at the finish with its trio Jordan Pepper, Franck Perera and Marco Mapelli. Dorian Boccolacci, Ayhançan Güven and Laurin Heinrich took second place in the team's No. 911 Porsche 3 GT22 R Schumacher CLRT after a great battle against the No. 48 Mercedes of Team MANN-Filter of the trio Maro Engel, Lucas Auer, Daniel Morad, third on the checkerboard.
