The Sprint Cup leader has struck again. Charles Weerts (Team WRT) will start from pole on Saturday afternoon in Misano, for Race 1. The Belgian set the best time at the very end of the session aboard the No. 32 Audi, with a time of 1'31 ″268. The Weerts – Vanthoor crew therefore pocketed the pole point and took a very slight lead of 1,5 points in the Sprint Cup standings before the first race.
The Audi was ahead of McLaren, that of Vincent Abril of the JP Motorsport team, by only 33 thousandths of a second. In third position, we find the Classic Mercedes for sale n°89 of Timur Boguslavskiy (Akkodis ASP) who failed 0″266 behind Weerts’ best time.
Valentino Rossi experienced a more complicated session at home. Only 16th in Q1 (+0″978), the Italian also distinguished himself by a spin at the end of the session aboard the No. 46 Audi.

In the Silver category, it was Thomas Neubauer (Team WRT) who achieved the best time aboard the No. 30 Audi and who will start 7th in Race 1. For the Pro-Am, the No. 188 McLaren of Miguel Ramos (Garage 59) was the fastest and will start in 20th position on Saturday.
