Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing) will start from pole on the grid of the Toyota Owners 400 contested on the Richmond oval after qualifying was canceled due to rain. The driver of the No. 42 Chevrolet, who earned this position due to his best time during the first free practice session, will start ahead of Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) and Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing), the Chevrolets of Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports) and Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) completing the top five. Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) will start from 10th place.
