The season was originally scheduled to begin in Central America, at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, on the weekend of May 6-8, 2026. However, logistical complications for several competitors, whose cars would have already had to leave the European continent, led WSC to find an alternative venue. The season will now head to Italy and the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Located on the Adriatic coast, the 4,2-kilometer transalpine circuit provides ideal terrain for touring car races. Marcello Lotti, head of WSC, was delighted with the arrival of this Italian round: We are delighted to add Misano to the list of iconic circuits that will host the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour. With its state-of-the-art layout and infrastructure, this circuit has always been one of the best for showcasing the thrilling spectacle of touring car racing. At the same time, it offers competitors and fans the opportunity to experience the charm of one of Italy's most beautiful regions, combining world-class motorsport with the unique atmosphere of the Adriatic Riviera. We would like to thank ACI Sport and its new president for hosting the World Tour. We are confident that this event will deliver many exciting races and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future. »

The date originally scheduled for the Mexican round remains unchanged, but has been moved to Misano. Competitors will therefore take to the track during the second weekend of May. The entry list should gradually become clearer by then.
