There will be no Super GT this first weekend of September. The organizer of the Japanese championship, the GT Association (GTA), has decided to postpone the fifth round of the season, which was to be held on September 1 at the Suzuka circuit for the Suzuka 350km. The reason? The passage of Typhoon Shanshan which threatens the event and the safety of spectators.

“For the safety of visitors and relevant parties, as well as the expected impact on public transportation due to the typhoon, it has been decided to postpone the 5th round of the Super GT, scheduled for August 31 and September 1 to 7 and December 8 », released GTA in a press release.

The new dates of December 7-8 therefore mean that Suzuka will be the last event of the 2024 championship, one month after the round scheduled in Motegi at the beginning of November.
