Janne Ferm will therefore have ended his career with a sad retirement, Sunday, at the Rally from Chile. Esapekka Lappi's co-driver has decided to retire from the sport after the Chilean event. The 44-year-old Finn is therefore ending his career in WRC : he will however take up the notebook one last time during the Rally Legend of San Marino (October 10-13) alongside Heikki Kovalainen in the Citroën C3 WRC.
“It’s been 15 seasons! I have to thank you for everything we’ve done together, greeted Esapekka Lappi at the finish of the Rally Chile. It has been an incredible journey from the beginning, from the Finnish championship where we were nowhere to the WRC. Thank you very much for that.” "We did it together, it was a great adventure indeed. Thank you, and now you have to manage with someone else! (laughs)", Janne Ferm replied with humor.
After 15 years alongside @EsapekkaLappi, @Veermi has called time on his professional WRC career. We wish you all the best in whatever comes next. 💙#WRC @OfficialWRC pic.twitter.com/YXusHqG0fg
