Everything is ready for Lancia's return to rally. It is through its own championship that the legendary manufacturer of WRC will be relaunched in the universe: the Trofeo Lancia Rally which will be contested on Ypsilon Rally 4 HF which was presented in May of last year.
The Turin brand has confirmed that the sporting regulations of the Trofeo Lancia Rally, currently in the final approval phase by ACI Sport (Italian federation), are now available to the public, as is the registration form for this single-make championship dedicated to the new Ypsilon Rally4 HF, of which more than 80 units have been sold in three months.
With an exceptional prize pool estimated at €360, the Trofeo Lancia promises to be one of the most attractive championships in Italian rallying. Its major stake? A place in the official Lancia Corse HF team for the next season of the European Rally Championship, provided that the winner is under 000 years old.
The programme includes six events spread over five rallies, with a points system rewarding all drivers who cross the finish line. A specific scale will honour the top 20 classified, while three special challenges will spice up the competition at each round: Best Performer, Miki Stage and Rally+, offering bonus points and intensifying the battle for the title.
Full season entry is set at €2, with options available for those wishing to participate in individual rounds. At the heart of the paddock, the “Villaggio Lancia Corse HF” will be the hub of the trophy, embodying the spirit and passion of rallying in Lancia’s version.
The Trofeo Lancia Rally will be held alongside the rounds of the Italian Rally Championship. The start is scheduled for 9th May with the Targa Florio Rally, before continuing a fortnight later with the Rally Due Valli (30th-31st May). In July, the Rally di Roma Capitale, also part of the European Championship, will play a key role. This round will be split into two races, thus optimising costs for the teams and offering a double opportunity for victory (4th-5th July and 6th July). After the summer break, the Trofeo Lancia will resume with the Rallye Lazio (13th-14th September), before concluding with the Rallye Sanremo (18th-19th October).
