Rally Sweden – SS9: Evans regains overall lead

Winner of the first special stage of the day on Saturday, Elfyn Evans regains the lead of the Rally Sweden ahead of Takamoto Katsuta and the two other Toyota Rally1 cars entered in the season, those of Sami Pajari and Oliver Solberg.

Rally Sweden – SS9: Evans regains overall lead

Elfyn Evans entered the Vännäs timed section 2,8 seconds behind Katsuta overall, but he left with a 4,4-second lead! The riders Toyota continue to dominate this second round of the 2026 World Rally Championship. The Japanese driver was surprised by the behavior of his Yaris on this ninth special stage, with a more nervous machine, having less traction than on the previous day.

Sixth at the end of Friday's stage, Oliver Solberg has already begun his comeback, having overtaken both leaders on this first special stage. Hyundai those in front of him, those ofAdrien fourmaux and Esapekka Lappi. The championship leader is now fourth, and he has six special stages ahead of him to try and make up as much ground as possible on Sami Pajari, and get closer to the podium before tomorrow's Super Sunday.

The tenth special stage starts at 11:05, with 16,72km on the program.
