Since the start of the day, the drivers who set off first on the special stages of the Rally Saudi Arabians are at a disadvantage compared to others. Sébastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans, the two leaders of the general classification WRCThey are therefore bearing the brunt of this trend. However, during SS5, the Frenchman particularly distinguished himself, finishing 3rd – tied with Adrien fourmaux – he gains precious seconds on his direct rivals in the general classification.
The pilot Toyota He is currently 5,1 seconds behind Takamoto Katsuta in 6th place. Moving up to that position would be important in his battle for the world title against Elfyn Evans. Meanwhile, the Welshman finished SS5 in 9th place. He is currently 8th overall, 30 seconds behind Sébastien Ogier. The third title contender, Kalle Rovanperä, is even further back. The Frenchman is currently 10th, 1 minute and 13 seconds off the lead.
Before these men, Mārtiņš Sesks (M-Sport), wins his third special stage of the day and consolidates his lead in the Rally. Sami Pajari finishes second in the special stage and regains second place overall from Adrien Fourmaux. The top three in this Rally are currently separated by 4,4 seconds.
Three stages remain to be run this Thursday in Saudi Arabia. The standings could therefore change significantly. As a reminder, three points separate Elfyn Evans from Sébastien Ogier before the final round of the championship is tallied.
In WRC2, Oliver Solberg has regained the lead after missing out on victory in SS4. The Swede continues to extend his advantage over Roope Korhonen. The category leaders are now separated by 1 minute and 9 seconds.
