Esapekka Lappi has found a steering wheel. The Finn, who was not selected by Hyundai to compete in the 2025 season of WRC (even if he assures that the discussions are still ongoing), has embarked on a new adventure and will compete in the Finnish Rally Championship. The double winner of rally in WRC will drive a Skoda Fabia Rally2 in his national championship. His programme will begin at the Arctic Lapland Rally (30 January – 1 February), the second round of the season.

After the retirement of his former teammate, Janne Ferm, Esapekka Lappi had to find a new partner to support him and dictate the notes. And it is with a fairly well-known co-driver that he will compete in the Finnish championship: Enni Mälkönen, former teammate of Sami Pajari. The Finnish woman, whose adventure with the new driver Toyota ended at the end of 2024 after securing the WRC2 title, will partner Esapekka Lappi for the first time.
