Forced to adopt a cautious approach in the two previous stages after suffering two punctures in the first timed section of the day, Ott Tänak was finally able to adopt a more aggressive pace during this SS10, with a clear result, the best time, 2″4 ahead Sébastien Ogier (Toyota), and 2″6 in front of another Hyundai, that of Thierry Neuville.
The Estonian, who had started the day in the lead rally, will most likely have to settle for fourth place, as he is currently 1'57″7 behind Ogier, who occupies the last place on the provisional podium. Dani Sordo (Hyundai), who also had a puncture but this time on SS9, managed to set a very good stage, with the fourth time, only 7″3 slower than his team-mate Tänak. The Spaniard has to contend with an i20 WRC which is missing the entire right rear bodywork, but this does not seem to affect its performance unduly.
Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) is the only Rally1 driver to have been caught out during this tenth special stage, with a spin but which cost him nothing but time. Grégoire Munster (M-Sport Ford) had to throw in the towel for this afternoon following his exit from the track in SS9. Next special from 16:08, with the second passage in Aghii Theodori, where Munster was trapped.
