The last special of the day, the third passage in the Umeå Sprint, will have tightened the general classification, notably due to a small error by Elfyn Evans. The Welshman, leader of the rally since yesterday evening, stalled at an intersection, and lost several seconds, which directly benefited his teammate Takamoto Katsuta, and Thierry NeuvilleThe Belgian is ideally positioned at the start of the final day of Rally Sweden, with two long special stages and a Power Stage which will take a longer version of this Umeå special stage.
Still not on top form with his Toyota, Kalle Rovanperä set the fourth fastest time ahead of Sami Pajari, Grégoire Munster and Martins Sesks. The Latvian only conceded seven tenths to Pajari, and he has a 12″ lead in their great fight for sixth place overall. In WRC2, Oliver Solberg was once again the fastest.
