Nothing is done in this 60th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona. As the drivers begin the last 10 hours of racing, only 10 seconds separate the two leaders in DPi. At present, Kevin Magnussen and Chip Ganassi Racing lead the debates on the Florida side. The Dane, in control for around forty minutes, has a little more than 10 seconds on the No. 10 Acura of Felipe Albuquerque.
French Loïc duval, driving the No. 5 Cadillac of JDC Miller, remains in contact. Currently 4th, the Habs are less than 25 seconds behind Kevin Magnussen. Pipo Derani in front of him is 8 seconds behind.
Returning to the pits for alternator problems in particular, Sébastien Bourdais has still not returned to the track with the No. 01 Cadillac of Chip Ganassi Racing now more than 40 laps behind. The chances of victory are zero. Same story for Jimmie Johnson with the No. 48 Cadillac. Victim of an accident, the American went through his garage where he stayed for 45 minutes and was around thirty laps behind.
In LMP2, Pato O'Ward (DragonSpeed) leads after the 14th hour of racing with just under 5 seconds ahead of Giedo van der Garde (Racing Team Nederland). With the No. 07 Oreca 8 from Tower Motorsport, Rui Andrade completes the Top 3 in the category.
Finally in GTD, Mikael Grenier (N°3 Mercedes-AMG GT57) leads the way with a 7 second lead over Jan Heylen and the N°911 Porsche 3 GT16R.
