Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport is doubling its efforts for 2024. The American team will benefit from a second Acura ARX-06 from the 24 Hours of Daytona, as announced this Tuesday, May 16 by the Japanese manufacturer.

Fielding a second GTP in competition has always been the wish of Wayne Taylor's team. “ We always planned to move to a two-car program, thus confirms owner of the team. There are so many benefits to being a two-car team and now, in the face of all the other factory-backed two-car efforts, it's vital. HPD and ORECA have built an incredible race car. When you look at the season so far, we have proven that we are the fastest almost everywhere we go and I think we now have the car to beat. With the combination of HPD, ORECA, Andretti Autosport and all our commercial partners, we have a really strong organization. »

“The strength and depth of Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport, throughout their organization, has impressed us from the start of our partnership in 2021, said David Salters, HPD president and CTO. This continued through the development of the new Acura ARX-06 GTP hybrid car. It's a very complex car, but everyone at WTRAndretti rose to the challenge. Our partnership with them has been very rewarding and we look forward to them continuing as an Acura factory with the addition of a second entrance IMSA in 2024. "

This second car will also be entered in IMSA. The nominated drivers will be announced later in the season. Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque, team regulars, should still be there, barring any surprises. Louis Delétraz, third man this year in the endurance races, could also be there.

Acura and WTRAndretti also confirmed that the No. 3 Harrison Contracting Company Acura NSX GT22 Evo93 will continue in the GTD class of the North American Endurance Championship in 2024.
