One week after the WEC,IMSA will also experience its outcome with Petit Le Mans on the Road Atlanta circuit. Wayne Taylor Racing comes to Georgia with a 19-point lead over Whelen Engineering Racing. “The 2021 championship took place in the best possible way for the fans, said Filipe Albuquerque, the Portuguese driver of the Konica Minolta-sponsored car. Whoever finishes in front, between the No. 10 and the No. 31 car, will be the champion. It's not ideal for us because we had a bigger gap earlier in the championship, but it's going to be great for everyone. It’s going to be one hell of a final race! Petit Le Mans is always an incredible race for everyone, for the engineers and for the drivers. It's a very unique track. This is very fun. We tested there recently, so we did our homework. We'll see how it goes, but I'm very motivated for this and ready to fight for the victory and finish the job. »

It will be an incredibly tough weekend with some great competition, but we know what car 10 is capable of and we have the utmost confidence in each other to achieve it. I am so honored to have been able to race for this team in 2021 and will do everything I can to help them finish strong. » The American, vice-champion ofIndyCar in 2018, will support Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor.
