Grand-Am – A first for Hartley and Mayer at Road America

On their No. 8 Starworks BMW Riley, the young New Zealander and the driver from Wisconsin took their first victory in this discipline. Sébastien Bourdais could not do better than 9th.

Grand-Am – A first for Hartley and Mayer at Road America

Brendon Hartley and Scott Mayer won their first Grand-Am victory on the Road America circuit, during the VISITFLORIDA.com Sports Car 250. Very lively since the start of the season, the duo had been very close to victory during of the second meeting of the year in Austin, Texas, before making a mistake at the very end of the race. This time, in Wisconsin, it was good. The victorious Starworks Motosport #8 BMW Riley finished ahead of the two Action Express Racing Corvette DPs on the podium. In second position, we find the No. 5 car driven by the pair Joao Barbosa? Christian Fittipaldi and third the No. 9, with brothers Brian and Burt Frisselle at the wheel.

Starting from pole position, Dane Cameron and Wayne Nonnamaker, in the No. 42 Riley BMW of the Sahlen team, dominated a large part of the race but had to retire on lap 54, after breaking an axle.

There were two French people at the start of this race: Sébastien Bourdais and Stéphane Sarrazin, both entered aboard a Corvette DP from 8 Star Motorsports. Associated with Emilio Di Guida, the first city finished in 9th position after starting from 4th place. The second, who shared his wheel with Enzo Potolicchio and Michael Valiante, did not reach the finish after an engine failure.

In GT, victory went to the trio Auberlen – Dalla Lana? Johnson in the No. 3 Turner Motorsport BMW M94.
