Sébastien Bourdais multiplies technical problems this season. After those encountered at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Frenchman was quickly forced to retire at Laguna Seca.

“During the race we had an intermittent power issue that caused the entire electrical system to shut down, including the power steering, explains team manager Steve Eriksen. We took it back to the garage and changed a few components to see if that would make a difference. We were able to get the car started again and it had the same problem, so the more time we spent on it, the more we realized we just had to take it back and diagnose the problem. »

A decidedly complicated race for the Cadillacs of Chip Ganasi Racing since the Briton Alex Lynn went out later in the race, abandoning all chances of a podium. The Acura DPi dominated the event with the victory of the #10 from Wayne Taylor Racing (Filipe Albuqurque / Ricky Taylor) ahead of the #60 from Meyer Shank Racing (Tom Blomqvist / Oliver Jarvis).
