Olivier Pla replaces Tristan Nunez at Action Express Racing

While Pipo Derani and Tristan Nunez were associated in all the rounds of theIMSA since the start of the season. The defending champion team has decided to replace the American driver with Olivier Pla from the sixth round of the season, contested this weekend in Detroit. The Frenchman will play the rest of the season alongside the man who is also his teammate in WEC at Glickenhaus. Nunez remains with the team as a substitute.

“Joining Action Express Racing is very special to me, declared Olivier Pla on this subject. I've raced against them for many years, and I know how good they are on the track. What they have accomplished in winning so many races and championships speaks for itself. It will be a big challenge to get to the halfway point of the season, but I am ready to take on this challenge. The Cadillac DPi-VR is a fantastic car and I can't wait to drive it. And of course, extremely happy and proud to join such a great driver and friend Pipo Derani! »

“We are happy that Olivier will join the AXR team from the Chevrolet Grand Prix in Detroit this weekend, added Gary Nelson, AXR team principal. The IMSA DPi class is very competitive this year and we want to make sure we can have a strong second half of the season. Tristan did a great job behind the wheel of the Whelen Engineering Cadillac. All of us at Action Express Racing have developed a great relationship with Tristan and his family. He is a young driver who has many victories and championships in perspective. Tristan remains an important part of this team, and we appreciate having his input on race weekends to continue to move our program forward. »

The Toulouse driver thus returns to a championship that he knows well since he has competed in events there since 2014. He was last year on the Acura-ARX-05 of Meyer Shank Racing.
