simon pagenaud loves loud colors. The Frenchman had won the Indianapolis 500 with a fluorescent yellow livery in 2019; this Sunday, January 30, it was with a bright pink jumpsuit that Poitevin hooked the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) to his credit.

Engaged for the first time with Meyer Shank Racing in IMSA, Tricolor had an intense weekend with his teammates Helio Castroneves, Oliver Jarvis and Tom Blomqvist. " I'm very proud ! L'Endurance, this is what allowed me to reach the high level of motorsport”, he recalls, referring to his races with Peugeot at the turn of the 2010s or more recently with Penske in IMSA.

“It’s great to think back on everything that’s happened since my decision to join Meyer Shank Racing. The relationship with my teammates was good from the start. The sensations were great. At Daytona we had some obstacles to overcome, but we didn't give up. Everyone maintained a great competitive spirit. Helio is very good at this!

It was only my first race with this team, but the strategy was fantastic. I'm sure we were the fastest during the pit stops. The execution of the mechanics was perfect. The most important thing was to save fuel, in order to go further with a full tank of gas (than other DPi). This success is also that of the team, without the members of the team, nothing would have been possible. »

Passionate about the history of motorsport across all disciplines, I learned to read thanks to AUTOhebdo. At least that's what my parents tell everyone when they see my name inside!
