Following the three days of testing at Road Atlanta (Georgia), BMW has announced two new drivers who will strengthen its roster for the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 26-29) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (March 18). Marco Wittmann and Sheldon van der Linde join Connor De Phillippi, Augusto Farfus, Philipp Eng, Nick Yelloly and Colton Herta.

“Racing in America is always very special. I am proud to be part of the LMDh program next year, said van der Linde. Daytona is a fantastic race with an incredible history. I'm looking forward to taking part for the BMW M Team RLL for the second time in a row. The fact that we will be aiming for the overall victory this time makes the events at Daytona and Sebring all the more exciting. »

“I’m really looking forward to racing in the series again IMSA next season, and to participate in classics like the 24 hours of Daytona and the 12 hours of Sebring, Wittmann said. I did a few days of testing with the BMW M Hybrid V8 and I am delighted to be part of such a project. The car has a lot of downforce, a lot of power, no driving aids like ABS – a real prototype. It will be cool to support the four regular IMSA drivers. » As a reminder, these last four will be De Phillippi, Yelloly, Eng and Farfus.

In Georgia at the start of the week, Connor De Phillippi, Nick Yelloly, Marco Wittmann and Augusto Farfus took turns in the Bavarian prototype.
