The increasingly tough field of the 60th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 29-30) has been added with the presence of simon pagenaud. The Frenchman will ride in Florida with the team with which he will also compete in IndyCar : Meyer Shank Racing. He thus joins his future teammate at the wheel of the Acura ARX-05 in car Helio Castroneves, as well as Tom Blomqvist and Oliver Jarvis. This will be the Habs' eighth appearance in the American race and he finished in second place in 2021 with Ally Cadillac Racing.

“I love starting the year with one of the biggest challenges of the year at the 24 Hours of Daytona, said the 37-year-old pilot. It's a race that I almost won several times, just like the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the past. I look forward to racing with my new MSR team in the endurance races that are my roots and I have a very deep love for this series while reuniting with Acura. With Oliver, Tom and Hélio, we will be a strong team. »

“We are really excited to have Simon join the team for Daytona, adds Mike Shank. The first step was to make him part of our full-season IndyCar roster and it made sense to put him in the Acura for Daytona. He knows the car well and has worked with Hélio before, so he has been a big asset to the team so far. With the lineup we have, I think we have a chance to challenge for a win in just a few weeks. »
