USC – Wayne Taylor Racing narrowly beat Detroit

The Belle Isle Park event held in Detroit only welcomed the LMP2s and GTDs for 1h40 of racing, but the race interruptions still greatly limited the competition. The final laps therefore offered a sprint finish where Wayne Taylor Racing emerged victorious with the Corvette DP of Ricky and Jordan Taylor. Despite Ricky Taylor's resistance against the Action Express Racing Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, the No. 5 was able to take the lead in the race before falling in the standings following a puncture following contact during overtaking. in the last lap.

Despite a big impact against the wall, Ricky Taylor managed to maintain the advantage over the #90 Spirit of Daytona driven by Richard Westbrook in order to secure the victory which allows the crew of the #10 to take the lead of the Championship with seven points ahead of Action Express Racing. Oak Racing took the opportunity to complete the podium with the Oak Racing Morgan-Nissan driven by Olivier Pla and Gustavo Yacaman.

The fight was also particularly close in GTD but Alessandro Balzan managed to keep the reins of the second category to win in the #63 Ferrari of the Team Corsa with two tenths ahead of the Porsche Alex Job Racing's 911 GT America driven by Ian James and Mario Farnbacher while the No. 8 Paul Miller Racing Audi R48 LMS ultra of Christopher Haase and Bryce Miller completed the podium less than half a second behind.
