Audi maintains the advantage in FP3 in Austin

Audi retained the advantage during the final practice session for the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas (Texas). Loïc duval a signé le temps référence en bouclant le tour du tracé d’Austin en 1’45’’719 en devançant de trois dixièmes les Porsche 919 Hybrid de Brendon Hartley and Romain Dumas. The second Audi led by Marcel Fässler followed half a second behind.

Kazuki Nakajima placed the first Toyota, la TS050 Hybrid n°5, à plus d’une seconde de la référence. La seconde LMP1 nippone emmenée par Stéphane Sarrazin a terminé à 1’’6.

Roberto Merhi set the best LMP2 time with a lap completed in 1'55''696 at the wheel of Manor's Oreca 05 which preceded the Ligier JS P2 of Bruno's RGR by Morand by half a tenth. Senna. Alex Brundle completed the top three with two tenths behind the G-Drive Racing Oreca 05 ahead of the Alpine A460 by Gustavo Menezes and Nicolas lapierre.

Aston Martin placed himself at the forefront in GTE Pro with a best time to go to Marco Sorensen, author of a lap in 2'03''368 in the No. 8 Vantage V95. The second British car followed by eight tenths with Fernando Rees at the wheel which preceded the Ferrari 488 n°51 of AF Corse of Gianmaria Bruni and the Ford GT n°67 of Harry Tincknell by more than a second.

Kévin Estre set the benchmark time in GTE Am with a time of 2'06''038 in the Abu Dhabi Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR, beating the No. 98 Aston Martin of Pedro Lamy by half a tenth.
