Minor damage to Porsche No. 2

Despite the accident, Porsche reassured about the status of the repairs to be carried out on the hybrid LMP1.

“The damage to the car is minor and Romain Dumas is unhurt, which is the most important thing. We hope that the weather will remain fine and dry, but the forecast announces multiple possibilities”, explains Andreas Seidl, Team Principal of Porsche LMP1.

“The new aero package performs as expected on the Nürburgring and has passed performance testing, emphasizes Andreas Seidl. All the drivers are satisfied with the behavior of the cars. We improved, but our opponents worked hard and they were very competitive with small gaps. »

Mark Webber also remains cautious about the state of the hierarchy. “We can't really decipher today's times because it's the racing conditions that count, but we did our best, underlines the Australian. The Nürburgring is fantastic for these fast cars and the #1 is in good form. »

The final practice session will be held this Saturday July 23 from 9:15 a.m. Qualifying will follow from 14:15 p.m.
