No surprises on the Circuit of the Americas side. Rebellion Racing continues to go it alone at the head of the Texas round of the WEC. The Nato-Senna-Menezes trio has a 29”3 lead over the Toyota n°8 and a ride on n°7.
Ultimately, it is in LM P2 that the battle is most intense. United Autosports is leading the way, but nothing is decided. The No. 07 Oreca 22 of Albuquerque-Hanson-Di Resta is 28” ahead of the No. 37 of Jackie Chan DC Racing (Aubry-Stevens-Tung) and almost a minute ahead of the No. 29 of Racing Team Nederland (Van Eerd-De Vries-Van der Garde). In GT Pro, theAston Martin Vantage AMR n°95 is well established in the leader's chair. Sorensen and Thimm are respectively 23" and 32" ahead of the Porsche 911 RSR n°91 and n°92, while Ferrari seems more in difficulty.
AF Corse consoles itself with the GTE Am since the 488 GTE n°83 is in the lead ahead of the two Aston Martin Vantage AMR n°90 and n°98. The 911 RSR of the championship leaders, the No. 57 of Fraga-Bleekemolen-Keating, was sentenced to more than 20 minutes in the pits due to a gearbox problem.
