Le Mans – The BMWs most penalized by the new BOP

The ACO unveiled the new BOP concerning the GTE on the eve of free practice and the first qualifying session of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Corvette C7R and the BMW M8 GTE are the big losers of these changes since the Americans gain 10kg (1254kg), while the Bavarians gain 13 (1281kg). Conversely, the Ford GTs will be 13kg lighter for a total weight of 1267kg. THE Aston Martin Vantage (1268kg), the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo (1291kg) and Porsche 911 RSR GTE (1259kg) have not seen their weight changed.

The BMWs also lose in terms of tank capacity with 4l less (97l in total) while the Ford GT loses 2 (96l in total). Conversely, the Aston Martins will be able to carry an additional 4l (105l in total) and 2l for the Vantages entered in GTE Am (102l).

The BOP may still be modified before the start of the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this Saturday at 15 p.m.
